Going Cheap... Again...

I am what you would call a 'product snob'. If someone opens their make-up bag and pulls out a Covergirl foundation or Revlon lipstick I will give them an evil look. But deep down inside of me, there is a longing desire to go to Duane Reade and buy all the products I've seen advertised in the latest issue of Allure. When I lived with my ex-roommate Celene, I found I'm not the only one with this desire, and on a drunken night last year, we ventured out. Let me tell you about some of my fabulous cheap purchases.

Covergirl Eye Enhancer in Tropical Fusion $4.99

I had seen this in a magazine when it first came out and was dying to get one. When I saw it in store I had to have it, since like, are you kidding me? It's only $4.99? This is one of the most fun things to play with, especially since one doesn't use bright colours like these every day, buying cheap crazy colours to play with every now and then can be a blast. The pigment isn't half bad and it has decent staying power. Use 1 or 2 of the colours to brighten up an an otherwise boring eye.

Milani Body Bronzer $8

This magical pot has a swirl of bronze and gold shimmer with an AMAZING floral scent. I use this lighten on check bones for a bright highlight, or on the shoulders and decollete. If you mix it with body lotion it looks great on the legs. This shit doesn't come off either, like fo real real, it will stay on. I wore it on Halloween when I dressed as a 'Miami Vampire' (tan + slutty outfit + fangs = Miami Vampire) and it stayed on all night! A must have in everyone's kit!

L'oreal Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Cleansing Gel $8.49

I'm a snob about make-up, but I'm a REAL snob when it comes to skin care (my regime is valued around $2,000 every 3-4 months, that doesn't include Botox). Cleansers are an obsession of mine, I can never seem to find one I like and the ones I do get discontinued (Guerlain Issima Pure Dew Cleansing Foaming Gel R.I.P). I was in Chicago for work, it was midnight, I was finishing e-mails and I went to wash my face for bed and realized I left my cleanser at home... Oh HELL no! I always loved the ads for this cleanser when it first came out so I figured I would go to the Walgreen's down the road and get it. Let me tell you, it smell great, makes your skin super smooth, contains BHA to gently exfoliate the skin, and leave it poreless! Put it up against my regular $40 cleanser, and it kinda won, like seriously. L'Oreal just launched a new line of cleansers, I will be trying them soon...

If there's a drug store product you want me to review let me know! I'll run out and buy it and give it a try :) But don't tell anyone...
